Petition: investigate the murder of soldiers at Ft. Hood! (WTF?!!!)

Change.org
Several soldiers from the Fort Hood military base have ended up either missing or dead this year. In June, Vanessa Guillén’s body was found after she was missing for weeks. And this week the body of Sgt. Elder Fernandes was discovered on nearby railroad tracks. That has many wondering why so many soldiers from Fort Hood are facing terror. Thousands signed this petition demanding a Congressional investigation into Fort Hood. Add your name to help the families of these soldiers get answers.

We demand a congressional investigation for all the deceased soldiers found at Fort Hood Base. It is unacceptable that so many soldiers have been found in the recent weeks yet nothing is being done and justice has not been served.

The families deserve answers, the soldiers deserve answers, WE THE PEOPLE DESERVE ANSWERS!

Petition: rename military bases named after Confederate Leaders

People for the American Way

Sign the petition to rename military bases named after confederate leaders

American military history is full of people who have put their lives on the line to defend the United States and everyone who lives here. To memorialize leaders of the Confederacy who fought to maintain slavery is to unquestioningly uphold white supremacy and is disrespectful to all those who have fought for our country.

Add your name to the petition supporting the measure in the National Defense Authorization Act that will require that military bases named for Confederate generals be renamed! >>

Confederate monuments, including the naming of military bases after those who willingly served in the Confederate military, rewrites the history of the Civil War – the Confederacy tried to divide and dissolve the nation, it was an insurrection based on maintaining slavery and the Confederates LOST.

Keeping the name of Confederate leaders on military bases upholds white supremacy and fails to address the shameful legacy of the Confederacy. This policy has already passed out of the Republican-controlled Senate Armed Services Committee and has broad bipartisan support.

Sign the petition urging your members of Congress to support the measure that will require these bases, including Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, and Fort Lee, to be renamed! >>

Thank you for your advocacy. Wishing you and your family health and safety!

Warning: This content may be upsetting to some readers.

Women soldiers have long come forward about being sexually harassed and assaulted. Too often, they are not taken seriously when they report the incidents. This is what petition starter Julia believes happened to 20-year-old Pvt. Vanessa Guillén. She was being harassed by her sergeant, then disappeared from Fort Hood. She was found dead last week. Join Julia and other signers in demanding justice for Vanessa.

Vanessa Guillén was a soldier in Fort Hood, she was sexually harassed by one of the Sargents in the base. She went missing from the military base for more than two months before her remains were found. The military base believed there was foul play in her case but lied about essential details since the begging. The case was not taken seriously until Vanessas mother went viral on the internet and then got the case to the news. Many other women soldiers  have come forward about being sexually harassed and sexually assaulted and not taken seriously when they report the incidents.

Vanessa Guillén deserves justice.

She joined the military to serve her country, to protect the people of the United States. Vanessa trusted Fort Hood to protect her while serving. Fort Hood failed her. Fort Hood became her enemy. Vanessa Guillén was not safe in her own military base, Fort Hood let her die when they claim “No soldier left behind”.
